STAFF HOUSING - ACC PLANT, KUDTHINI
IGH was the Project Managers and Technology consultants for this project, lead by Ashok B Lall Architects, New Delhi. This project has wom several accolades, the most important being the La Farge Sustainability Award 2011.
The building utilises Granulated Blast Furnace Slag for its blocks sourced from the nearby Jindal Steel Plant, has hollow precast floor blocks held between RCC T-Beams which compliment the Aided Passive cooling system designed by the architects, reclaimed timber for its doors and windows, pigmented oxide flooring and Bamboo mat board for the heat control sliding screens and the facia for the ventilation sheets.
Along with the staff housing technologies, IGH also spearheaded the incorporation of bamboo for a large span roof over the planned club building. A single truss spanned over 80 feet.
