Environmentally responsible, socially relevant and financially prudent solutions for the built environment
JYOTHI AND SUNIL RESIDENCE
This was an interesting project. There was an existing design for the house and the borewell and sump constructed in one corner of the house based on that earlier design. Sunil and Jyothi decided to get a second opinion from us, and we ended up saving them about a 1,000 square feet in area (and about Rs 15 Lakhs in construction costs) for their 3 bedder home, and retained much the idea of a central court/atrium that they desired.
Sunil was committed to building green and had already set up the manufacture of Compressed Stabilised Earth Blocks on his site. The building incorporated Kota and Jaisalmer flooring internally, and a few plastered/painted walls to offset the monotony of the predominant earthy tones of the masonry.
